More About HerHandong was asked by a professor to audition for Happy Face Company (now called Dreamcatcher Company). It was thanks to this teacher that she went to an audition and got into the company on her first try.Handong's name is related to Korea and the East, which is what makes many people think that she was destined to debut in a group in South Korea.When she left to study in South Korea, her parents made her promise she wouldn't become a K-Pop idol even though that had been her dream since she became a fan of Taeyeon. Her other dream was to become a musical actress, which is why she went to Sejeong University to study Musical Arts and even go to a few opera lessons before becoming an idol.She's currently the CEO of Handong Studio, a company under Modern Sky. Opening your own studio/company is very common in China and there are idols that continue with their group activities while managing themselves.The moment she left China, her parents got a kitten and called him Nannan, making him (as she has mentioned) his little brother. She now has become a cat mom with a cat called Gumi (which we speculate could be translated from Korean to "dream").Her signature is supposed to be a drawing of a cat!

Handong was the first Dreamcatcher member to release solo song that was not for any OST.First Light Of Dawn talks about how for her fans and her music, feels like the first light of dawn.

As a part of their 2022 album Apocalypse: Save Us, this being the final part of the trilogy, every member released a solo song for the album.

After the release of Apocalypse: Save Us, Handong recorded That Day and released it on her own. This one too is a song in Chinese.

In 2025 with the opening of her own studio (Handong Studio) and before the release of her solo album, Handong released the song Fairy.
